Our market is a pre-loved shopping mecca and the possibilities of what you can find are endless. There is always a variety of styles, sizes & trends, from Vintage levi's to your basic tee we have so much on offer at every one of our events. If you do it right you can re-plenish your entire wardrobe for the season in one hit!
Our advice is to take your time and be ready to rummage! There is a lot on offer when you turn up to a Clothing Cupboard Market and you do need a game plan. You don't want to be that person that breezed past 3 stalls to find that you've missed out on some hidden treasures that someone else was willing to rummage for and discover. So.. No. 1 - Take your time, work your way around, flick through each rack and don't miss the bargain baskets! I scored one of my favourite dresses in someones $2 basket! No. 2 - Take an intermission & grab a coffee, re-asses the situation make sure you haven't missed a row of stalls and head back in.. or if you've done inside then you can tackle outside! No, 3 - Don't judge a book by it's cover. Just because the person standing at the stall is a leggy, tiny waisted minx doesn't mean the only size she is selling is a tall fitting 8! Most stall holders have partnered up with a pal, get passed on items to sell or are selling something because it doesn't fit them! So sizing up the stall holder won't help you figure out what sizes they have at their stall... the best way to find out is to ask. No. 4 - Don't forget to look down. Stall holders will often have a bargain basket, beautiful almost new shoes and bags at a lower level or propped up under their table or rack. I have scored myself a pair of almost new Dr. Martins that were neatly sitting under a table plus a groovy tote bag! No. 5 - The second round... Well honestly I would say this is a risky move, you second round shoppers are pulling at your own heart strings. The market is fast paced with people coming through all the time. My advice if you see something you like and you are umming and arrring as to whether it will fit you or suit you, try it on! Don't pass it up and then 5 stalls later think I do love that skirt, I'll go back and get it because 9 times out of 10 that skirt will be gone! We have a change room at the market so you can try items on that you are debating. But if you are a brave soul and the second round shop is a "fate" kind of decision maker, well good luck! The Clothing Cupboard Market is a great shopping experience, it's social, it's ethical, it's fun and it's full of treasures. You can score some really cool Vintage threads, designer labels, on trend items, clothing sourced from around the globe and items that are new with tags or as good as new. You just need to be savvy and keep your peepers open. We hope you find your favourite new piece at our upcoming spring market! Happy hunting, until next time. -TCC

There is just something so inspiring about markets and re-loving clothing. I love seeing the diversity of clothing when it is re-loved & peoples personalities spill out through their wardrobe. Previous Posts
